Little Switzerland
Overview
Little Switzerland is the largest and most reputable authorized jewelry dealer in the Caribbean with 15 stores and branded boutiques on seven different islands.
Opportunity
With goals for continued growth, Little Switzerland was looking to modernize its financing and unlock a younger customer profile without sacrificing ease of implementation and a simplified customer experience.
A Bread Financial™ partner for more than 10 years, Little Switzerland knew the company could help solve its evolving financing needs. The solution was simple: introduce installment loans with Bread Pay™, a buy now, pay later product from Bread Financial. By adding Bread Pay installment loans alongside its traditional private label credit card (PLCC), through new in-store technology, Little Switzerland grew revenue and successfully tapped a new customer base.
Little Switzerland’s new customer base
Traditional credit card:* Private label credit card for recurring purchases
- Customer type: Gen X and baby boomers
- Average spend: $5,000
- Most utilized promotion: 18 months, 0% interest
Bread Pay installment loans:** One-time purchase paid over time
- Customer type: Millennials
- Average spend: $2,100
- Most utilized promotion: 12 months, 0% interest
New technology: Buy now, pay later in-store signage
Introducing an e-commerce-born financing option to customers in store presents a unique challenge, but with Bread Financial, a pioneer in this space, integration was seamless both from a technology and customer experience standpoint. Strategically placed QR code signage brought Bread Pay financing directly to each customer’s smartphone through one of the most intuitive application flows in the market, resulting in a satisfying in-store customer experience.
As I was finishing helping another customer, a young woman entered the store and showed interest in our David Yurman collection. After discussing her favorite pieces, she asked about using her newly obtained $1,500 virtual credit card from Bread Pay, which she had applied for just moments before by scanning a QR code off our in-store signage. Not only was she able to purchase the piece she initially wanted, but she was also able to add on another bracelet since she had been approved for $1,000 more than what she had originally budgeted to spend."
Victoria Kendall, Sales Supervisor, Little Switzerland
Little Switzerland is thrilled by the remarkable growth it has experienced since incorporating Bread Pay installment loans into its financing options and has made the strategic decision to replace its existing Affirm e-commerce offering with Bread Pay, aiming to establish a comprehensive omnichannel financing program in partnership with Bread Financial.
